Jamie Carragher lavished praise on to Arsenal forward Gabriel Jesus for his impressive outing in his side’s 3-1 win against Chelsea.

After questions were raised about whether he has the minerals to lead the line for Mikel Arteta’s side, the £45 million (Sky Sports) man responded with a goal from close quarters in a crucial London Derby.

Jamie Carragher was seemingly awestruck by the all-round display from Gabriel Jesus for Arsenal, who beat Chelsea with relative ease.

What Carragher said about Jesus as Arsenal beat Chelsea

The Brazilian international was a nuisance for Frank Lampard’s side from start to finish.

Buzzing all across the pitch, picking the ball up in dangerous areas and stitching the attack together, this was Jesus at his very best against the Blues.

Against Southampton in particular, the 25-year-old has especially been slated due to his tendency to be wasteful in front of goal.

However, Arsenal striker Gabriel Jesus bit back at his critics with a sensational showing against Chelsea, which led Jamie Carragher to sing his praises.

“He’s been absolutely electric that man tonight. He has been fantastic. He’s got his goal as well”, Carragher said on Sky Sports (broadcast on 2/5; 21:29).

In terms of his well-roundedness, the former Manchester City attacker is already amongst the most complete No.9’s the game has to offer.

But the same cannot be said when breaking down his goalscoring instincts and actual finishing, as is the case with the likes of Erling Haaland, Karim Benzema, Harry Kane and Robert Lewandowski to name a few.

Against Chelsea, Gabriel Jesus showed both sides of his game, which is what struck Jamie Carragher, who reserved special praise for his performance.

In the summer, Jesus should hone aspects of his game that align with traditional marksmen to truly become a force of nature for this Gunners side.
