Arsenal fans shouldn’t expect Victor Osimhen to arrive this summer as they instead focus their funds on signing a new midfielder.

That’s according to Fabrizio Romano, who has been speaking to Caught Offside about Osimhen’s future.

Romano claims that Osimhen’s price tag to leave Napoli will be ‘really huge’ as the Serie A leaders attempt to keep him in Italy.

Romano adds that Arsenal already have strikers like Gabriel Jesus, Eddie Nketiah and Folarin Balogun in Mikel Arteta’s ranks.

That’s why Romano can’t really see Arsenal signing the Nigerian, adding that Arsenal have ‘different priorities’ than signing a striker.

A new midfielder is a real focus for Arsenal and we could see another left back and a winger arrive depending on outgoings.

Declan Rice more likely than Victor Osimhen to join Arsenal

Osimhen would certainly be an exciting signing for Arsenal at the end of the season.

The 24-year-old has smashed 19 goals in just 21 Serie A games this season whilst also adding three assists.

Osimhen is one of the top strikers in Europe and Napoli are surely looking at more than £100million for his services.

Arsenal will have more spending power this summer but splashing £100million on another striker doesn’t seem likely.

Jesus will be back from injury, Nketiah has shown that he can support the Brazilian and Balogun has been on fire during his loan spell at Reims.

The Gunners will likely commit their funds elsewhere with Mikel Arteta clearly keen on a new signing in midfield.

Declan Rice and Moises Caicedo are two major targets for Arsenal who would cost huge money this summer.

Others like Martin Zubimendi and Sergej Milinkovic-Savic are also being linked with the Gunners, showing where Arsenal’s priorities lie this summer – even if it’s hard not to appreciate Osimhen.
