Roy Keane strongly criticised Manchester United right-back Aaron Wan-Bissaka on Sky Sports Premier League (5:25pm, January 22, 2023) for his involvement in Eddie Nketiah’s goal for Arsenal against Erik ten Hag’s side in the first half.

The former Manchester United midfielder believes that Wan-Bissaka should not have allowed Arsenal striker Nketiah to score at the Emirates Stadium in the Premier League game.

The former Leeds United loanee found the back of the net with a header from close range.

Wan-Bissaka was marking Nketiah, but the £100,000-a-week (SakarySport) right-back did not go with the striker as he attacked the six-yard box.

And Keane was not impressed.

Keane said: “It’s just his lack of awareness. It’s as if he can’t believe someone is coming in at the back. He just dozes off, it’s lack of football intelligence, lack of concentration.”

Disappointing

In our view, Manchester United right-back Aaron Wan-Bissaka should have done better for the goal that Eddie Nketiah scored for Arsenal in the first half at the Emirates Stadium on Sunday evening.

The former Crystal Palace right-back surely must have seen the striker behind him.

We know that Wan-Bissaka is very good defensively, and on this occasion, he did let his team down.

Now, the defender did not have a particularly bad game overall, but he did lose concentration for a moment.

And that cost his team a goal.

We believe that Wan-Bissaka needs to do better and improve his game.
