Fabrizio Romano has reported on Twitter that Pablo Mari is now set to join Udinese on loan from Arsenal.
The well-known and well-respected journalist has claimed on the social networking site Mari will undergo a medical in Italy this week and then complete his loan move from Arsenal to Udinese.
Arsenal and Udinese have agreed on the terms, according to Romano, who has added that the 28-year-old Spanish central defender has turned down proposals from clubs in South America to move to Udinese.
Earlier this month, midfielder Ainsley Maitland-Niles left Arsenal to join AS Roma on loan until the end of the season.
Striker Folarin Balogun has also left the Gunners on loan, moving to Middlesbrough until the end of the season.
Sensible for Pablo Mari to leave Arsenal on loan
In our view, it makes sense for Mari to leave Arsenal on loan for Udinese now.
The 28-year-old has fallen down the pecking order at the Gunners and is not getting playing time under manager Mikel Arteta.

Mari has made two appearances in the Premier League and one in the Carabao Cup for Arsenal so far this season.
It is clear that Arteta does not see the 28-year-old as an important player in his team.
So, in our opinion, it makes sense for the defender to move to Udinese on loan until the end of the season.
