As the Arsenal U-18 side emerged triumphant in the FA Youth Cup semi-final with a 2-1 victory against Manchester City, Myles Lewis-Skelly stood up tall as the matchwinner.
Jack Wilshere’s side were leading the contest with a stunning free-kick, courtesy of Michael Rosiak. However, Justin Oboavwoduo equalised for a 10-man City to send the game into extra-time.

Thankfully for the Arsenal U-18 side, Myles Lewis-Skelly settled the contest with a close-range header to send his team through to the final.

There was huge pressure on the Gunners entering this fixture as they are yet to win the FA Youth Cup since 2009.
Ironically enough, the last side to win the competition in red and white included none other than Jack Wilshere.
As Manchester City started to dominate the game, despite having a man sent off, Arsenal U-18 starlet Myles Lewis-Skelly rose like a salmon and capitalised on the opposition No.1 rushing out of his net far too early to head the ball into the back of the net.
In a video shared by AFC Stuff on Twitter, one can see the scenes that unfolded after the goal as well, as Lewis-Skelly settled the clash against one of the most talented youth teams in the country.
Myles Lewis-Skelly is the Gunners’ future
Last Wednesday, it was reported that Mikel Arteta’s side had plans in store to extend the 16-year-old’s contract until 2026.
Branded as ‘Jack Wilshere 2.0’ by Football Fan Cast, the teenager, who can operate in both defensive midfield and further forward is one of Hale End’s most talented youth products.
As Myles Lewis-Skelly came up clutch for the Arsenal U-18 side against Manchester City in such a crunch tie, it may have vindicated the club’s backing of him even more than before.
