Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal are now in talks with David Moyes’s West Ham United over a possible deal for Declan Rice, according to a report.
Arsenal and West Ham United in talks over Declan Rice
Football Transfers have reported that Arsenal have opened “preliminary talks” with London and Premier League rivals West Ham for England international midfielder Rice.
The report has claimed that Arsenal and West Ham discussed details such as “the fee and the structure of the payment” last week.
An earlier report in Football Transfers had claimed that Arsenal are willing to pay as much as £80 million for the 24-year-old.
According to The Daily Star, West Ham want as much as £100 million for Rice, described as “a diamond and a fabulous player” by former Manchester United midfielder Owen Hargreaves on told Premier League Productions (29/04/23 at 11:50 am).

Summer transfer possible
In our view, Arsenal could be able to sign Declan Rice from West Ham United in the summer transfer window.
That the Gunners have already opened talks with the Hammers indicates that a move could happen.
If West Ham were not at least open to selling Rice, then they would not have even spoken with Arsenal.
Rice is one of the best midfielders in the Premier League, and we believe that he would be able to make an immediate impact at the Emirates Stadium and make the Gunners a better team in the middle of the season.
A move to Arsenal and challenging for the Premier League title would be hugely appealing to Rice.
