Victor Osimhen’s agent is reportedly set to meet PSG’s sporting consultant Luis Campos over the international break despite rumours that Arsenal want to sign the Napoli superstar.

According to Foot Mercato, the Ligue 1 official is to meet the Nigerian’s entourage over the next few days to discuss a potential transfer in the summer, with Osimhen currently leading Napoli to their first Serie A title this century and doing so in record-breaking fashion.

The attacker is set to become the first African to win the Capocannoniere award having hit 21 goals in the Italian top-flight this campaign, and as a result, transfer interest has hit a new all-time high for Osimhen, with PSG joining the likes of Arsenal in the race to sign the striker.

Ciro Venerato has recently reported that the Gunners are the favourites to sign the 24-year-old, though with Osimhen’s team now meeting with PSG over the March international break, the French club could now be set to overtake Arsenal in the race to land the forward.

Indeed, PSG are set for a huge summer overhaul having failed once again to make any real impact in the UEFA Champions League, and whilst Osimhen might be viewed as another flashy signing, the attacker could be perfect to partner Kylian Mbappe in the forward line.

Moreover, with Arsenal stacked in the striker position with Gabriel Jesus, Leandro Trossard and Eddie Nketiah as well as Folarin Balogun returning in the summer, it makes little sense why the club are targeting Osimhen in the first place, with PSG a realistic next destination for the Nigerian.

Osimhen’s form this season for Napoli has been nothing short of incredible, and for PSG, going big on the striker to partner Mbappe could finally be the move that helps the French giants make history and win the Champions League for the first time in their history.

Whilst interest is high in the African sensation, PSG have the resources and the pull to make Osimhen their key signing of the summer, and Arsenal could be helpless in allowing a transfer target to slip through their fingers in the weeks to come.
