Napoli have reportedly placed a €150m (£130m) asking price on star striker Victor Osimhen, with Arsenal and Chelsea believed to be interested in the Nigerian international.

According to Gazzetta dello Sport, the Serie A leaders are unwilling to part with the superstar forward this summer amid a record-breaking season for Osimhen, who is currently on course to become the first African to win the Capocannoniere award in Italy as the top-flight’s leading goalscorer.

With 21 goals in the division, Osimhen has bene one of the best strikers in Europe this season, and as a result, interest has been at an all-time high for the 24-year-old forward, with TuttoMercatoWeb reporting that Arsenal are keen on the former LOSC Lille star, alongside Chelsea as per CalcioMeracto.

With such an incredible goalscoring record this season, it’s no wonder why Napoli have set Osimhen’s asking price as high as it is, with the striker on course to become one of the best in the world and a top player for one of the biggest clubs in Europe.

Indeed, whilst £130m is an extreme amount of money, the likes of Arsenal and Chelsea could afford to meet this asking price, especially the Blues, who have shown under Todd Boehly that financial rules don’t apply to them in regard to big-money signings.

As a result, Chelsea could easily match Napoli’s demands for Osimhen, especially with Graham Potter expected to revamp the Blues’ attacking options in the summer, with Christopher Nkunku not nearly enough for what the west London side need for next season.

Osimhen’s stock has risen to as high as it could ever reach in his career this season, and with Napoli finally naming their asking price, the Serie A giants could soon be in line to earn a huge transfer fee from their Nigerian superstar.

With Chelsea in the money and Arsenal potentially in the market for a striker, clubs will be willing to spend big to sign Osimhen this summer, with Napoli well within their right to demand £130m for the 24-year-old record-breaker for the upcoming transfer market.
