Inter Milan have reportedly joined the race to sign Arsenal talent Folarin Balogun, who the Gunners now value at €40m (£34m) after a sensational loan spell with Stade de Reims this season.
According to Gazzetta dello Sport via Pianeta Milan, the Nerazzurri have joined their city rivals, AC Milan, in the race to sign Balogun, with the Arsenal-owned striker now catching the eye of both Milanese clubs ahead of the summer transfer window.
The England youth international is currently enjoying an incredible campaign with Reims that has seen Balogun score ten goals already in Ligue 1 and break numerous records along the way. And now, the attacker’s form has caught the eye of some prestigious clubs.
As per the report, Arsenal value their Hale End academy talent at £34m, and with Gabriel Jesus and Eddie Nketiah asserting themselves as Mikel Arteta’s two first-team strikers, there’s every chance that Balogun could now be sold at the end of this season.
With Arsenal expected to qualify for the UEFA Champions League for next season, though, the Gunners might be against selling a talent as exciting as Balogun to a potential European rival. However, given how highly the north London side rate the youngster, the payday could be worth it.
Indeed, Inter and Milan have not been afraid in recent years to spend big on players they believe are worthy for the squad. And Balogun could soon be that figure for both Serie A giants with their striker situations both involving replacing ageing forwards.

And with Inter joining the Rossoneri in the race to sign Balogun, there’s a good chance that the two Milan sides could spark a bidding war for the England U-21 star, who Arsenal might be keen to let go in the summer if a big enough bid comes.
