Real Sociedad midfielder Martin Zubimendi has turned down the chance to join Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal in the January transfer window, according to Cadena Ser.

Real Sociedad ace Martin Zubimendi rejects Arsenal

The Spanish news outlet has claimed that Arsenal are interested in signing Zubimendi from Sociedad this summer.

The Gunners asked Sociedad about the availability of Zubimendi.

The La Liga club told Arsenal to pay his release clause of €60 million (£53 million).

The Premier League outfit were willing to pay that amount.

So, according to the report, Arsenal then made an approach to Zubimendi himself.

The Spain international flatly refused to move to Arsenal and said ‘no’ to the North London club.

The 23-year-old is committed to Sociedad and wants to stay at the Spanish club for now, according to the report.
