Among the players Arsenal have out on loan is Auston Trusty, who is doing exceptionally well at Birmingham City.

Arsenal-owned Auston Trusty flourishing at Birmingham City

Trusty has been one of the best players in the Championship, and it is clear that the Arsenal-owned defender is destined for big things.

The 24-year-old has been a rock at the back for Birmingham and has been a big reason why they have finished above the relegation zone this season.

The USA international has been so good for the Blues that he has been named Birmingham City’s Player of the Season.

The American star joined Arsenal from Colorado Rapids in January 2022 and stayed on loan at the American club until the summer of 2022.

And then Trusty moved to Birmingham on loan.

The defender has made 43 appearances in the Championship for John Eustace’s side this season.

Trusty has scored four goals and given two assists in those games.

Rangers want £2m transfer deal

Now, you would expect Trusty to be given a chance in the Arsenal first team next season.

However, there is a chance that he could leave the Gunners for good… without playing a single competitive match for them.

That’s because, according to The Daily Mail, Rangers are trying to get a deal done for £2 million with Arsenal for Trusty.

The report has claimed that the Scottish Premiership club are “keen to get a deal done”.

Potential summer exit

Now, of course, Arsenal may have other ideas and may not want to cash in on the defender now.

Or the Premier League club could ask for more than £2 million.

Rangers are a big club who will be aiming to win the Scottish Premiership title next season.

If Trusty does not think that he would be able to play for the Arsenal first team anytime soon, then a transfer to Rangers could appeal to the USA international defender, described as “exceptional” by Eustace.
