Arsenal have a huge £180million to spend this summer before sales and are rivalling Newcastle United for Ruben Neves.
Arsenal and Newcastle United could do battle over Ruben Neves this summer as he prepares to leave Wolves.
That is according to the Daily Mail, who claim that Barcelona, Arsenal and Newcastle are all admirers of Neves.
Wolves need to sell players this summer in order to raise cash and avoid Financial Fair Play problems.
Neves seems primed to leave with Wolves seemingly facing their final chance to sell the midfielder.
Neves is out of contract in 2024, meaning he could walk way on a free transfer in just a year.
Wolves must cash in now and there seems to be no shortage of Premier League interest.
Neves has been hailed as a “a top, top player” and “sensational” by pundit Gary Neville having turned in consistently excellent displays for Wolves.
Neves is superb on the ball and has an excellent passing range, whilst we have all seen his ability to score from range.
There may be questions about his mobility and suitability for a pressing team like Arsenal or Newcastle, but maybe they think that he can dictate the game from deep.

Arsenal preparing to spend amid Ruben Neves interest
The Mail’s report adds that Arsenal have a transfer budget of around £180million this summer before selling players.
The likes of Granit Xhaka and Kieran Tierney look set to leave whilst Rob Holding, Thomas Partey, Cedric Soares and Pablo Mari seem primed to go.
That would almost certainly take Arsenal over £200million this summer, giving Mikel Arteta the chance to land top players.
Neves could fit that bill and may be seen as a similar player to Jorginho in a holding role at Arsenal.
It’s hard to imagine Arteta changing Neves into a Xhaka-like midfielder in this Arsenal team but who knows what the Spaniard has in mind.
We think the likes of Declan Rice and Moises Caicedo should be the top priorities for Arsenal this summer, with Neves maybe in the same category as Youri Tielemans – a player with real quality on the ball and wouldn’t break the bank, but maybe not an ideal fit.
