Fabrizio Romano has reported on Twitter that Moises Caicedo wants to join Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal in the January transfer window, and that the Gunners have had another bid for the midfielder rejected.
The Italian journalist has claimed that Arsenal have made a second bid of £70 million including add-ons for Caicedo.
Brighton have turned it down.
Arsenal have had their initial offer of £60 million for the 21-year-old turned down as well.
Romano has claimed that Caicedo himself wants the move.
The youngster had posted a message on Instagram last week saying that he wanted to leave Brighton in the final days of the January transfer window just hours after Arsenal had their £60 million bid turned down.
Chelsea have also had an offer for Caicedo, according to Romano in CaughtOffside.
Romano has added that should Arsenal make another bid for Caicedo, then it would be a club record-fee.
Nicolas Pepe is Arsenal’s record signing.
The winger cost the Gunners £72 million when they brought him from Lille in 2019 (Goal).
