Isco has been linked with Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal, and Juventus’s stance on the former Real Madrid playmaker will be encouraging for the Gunners.

Or worrying.

Arsenal linked with Isco

In December 2022, The Sun reported that Arsenal are interested in signing Isco in the January transfer window.

The Gunners’ bitter North London rivals Tottenham Hotspur are reported to be interested in the Spanish playmaker as well.

The report in the British tabloid claimed Isco’s situation has put Arsenal and Tottenham on red alert.

Isco is now a free agent after his contract with Sevilla was terminated by mutual consent.

The 30-year-old attacking midfielder joined Sevilla on a free transfer only in the summer of 2022 after leaving Madrid.

Juventus reject chance to sign Isco

According to CMW, Isco has been offered to a number of clubs, including Juventus.

The former Serie A and UEFA Champions League winners have turned down the chance to sign the player who won the La Liga title thrice and the UEFA Champions League on five occasions with Madrid.

What should Arsenal do?

In our opinion, Arsenal should not make a move for Isco in the January transfer window.

Yes, Isco is a free agent now.

And yes, the playmaker has a huge pedigree.

True, former Tottenham Hotspur head coach Mauricio Pochettino called him “magic” in October 2017, as quoted in Marca.

But, Madrid let him go on a free transfer for a reason, and Sevilla decided to offload him for a reason.

Isco is simply not that good anymore, and with Martin Odegaard flourishing at the moment and Emile Smith Rowe to come back, there is no need for Arsenal to bring in the Spaniard in the middle of the season.
