Journalist Steve Bates has suggested that after Arsenal could perhaps try to sign Joao Cancelo from Manchester City in the summer of 2023.
Currently, it seems very unlikely that Bayern Munich will pay the £61 million fee to make his loan move permanent, as the player has largely been a bench option since moving to Germany in January.
Now, it has been suggested that after Arsenal signed Gabriel Jesus and Oleksandr Zinchenko from Manchester City, they could try their hand at bringing in Joao Cancelo as well.
Journalist: Arsenal may try to make Cancelo signing
The Portuguese full-back lost his place at City after the World Cup to Nathan Ake at left-back, and he admitted that a lack of playing time prompted him to eye a switch, as relayed by Manchester City News.
But now that Joao Cancelo has suffered the same fate in a Bayern shirt, journalist Steve Bates told GiveMeSport that Arsenal may try to sign him.

“Chelsea and Arsenal have been linked with him and there’s no doubt that if he was to be sold by Manchester City, then a lot of Premier League clubs in the top four or five would definitely be after him, as would many of the top clubs in Europe.”
“I think Real Madrid have been looking at him as well.”
In our view: Impossible that Manchester City sell him to the Gunners
As Jamie Carragher said, Pep Guardiola’s side are unlikely to do business with Mikel Arteta’s men for the time being at least.
While the impact of losing Gabriel Jesus at Manchester City is extremely overstated in our view, the side certainly have missed Oleksandr Zinchenko, who has strengthened Arsenal and Joao Cancelo would do the same as well.
Cancelo, described as ‘exceptional’ by Guardiola via the official club website remains one of the finest full-backs on the planet and under Arteta, he would shine. But that is unlikely to be the case as unlike before the start of the season, the Gunners are top dogs as well.
