Arsenal are interested in snapping up Leicester City defender Timothy Castagne as the Foxes stare relegation in the face.
That is according to a report from The Mirror, who claim that Arsenal are keen on signing Castagne.
It’s claimed that Arsenal scouts have been watching Castagne ahead of a potential summer move.
Castagne can play on the left or right side of defence and has shown that versatility throughout his time with Leicester.
That flexibility may be very appealing to Arsenal as they seek competition in wide areas.
Takehiro Tomiyasu’s injury problems mean Arsenal may seek another right back to compete with Ben White.
Kieran Tierney has been linked away from Arsenal too with Newcastle United thought to be interested.
Rather than sign two players for those roles, Arsenal could look to fill both spots in one fell swoop by signing Castagne to cover for them.
Leicester may well end up being relegated to the Championship and that would certainly help Arsenal’s position with Castagne.
Timothy Castagne has been backed for Arsenal move before
Castagne joined Leicester from Atalanta back in 2020, but he was quickly being backed for Arsenal.
