Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal have made a bid for West Ham United midfielder Declan Rice, according to a report.

Football Transfers are reporting today that Arsenal have made a bid for West Ham United and England international midfielder Declan Rice.

The Gunners have offered the Hammers £80 million plus bonuses for the 24-year-old.

There is no agreement in place between Arsenal and West Ham yet over Rice, described as “a diamond and a fabulous player” by former Manchester United midfielder Owen Hargreaves on Premier League Productions (29/04/23 at 11:50 am).

Football Transfers have reported that although Rice’s camp have held talks with Bayern Munich, the German club have been told that the midfielder wants to move to Arsenal in the summer of 2023.

Exciting Declan Rice update for Arsenal fans

In our view, that Arsenal have made a bid for Declan Rice is very exciting for the North London club.

It shows that the Gunners are really determined to get a deal done and get it done soon.

West Ham’s season is finished now.

Rice helped the Hammers win the UEFA Europa Conference League this week.

With West Ham chairman David Sullivan has publicly said that Rice will leave.

It is now a matter of whether Arsenal would be able to agree on a fee with West Ham over Rice.

The Hammers are a big and established club in the Premier League, and the London outfit are surely not to going to sell Rice for anything less than what they want.
