Arsenal are reportedly set to miss out on the signing of VfL Wolfsburg winger Omar Marmoush to Eintracht Frankfurt, with the Bundesliga side closing on a pre-contract agreement.
According to WAZ, the UEFA Champions League club are in the final stages of agreeing to a deal to sign Marmoush at the end of this season, with Frankfurt offering the winger a salary worth as much as four times what the attacker currently earns at Wolfsburg.
Bild have previously reported that Arsenal were chasing the Bundesliga winger ahead of this summer. However, Frankfurt have beaten Mikel Arteta’s side to the 24-year-old’s signature, with the reigning UEFA Europa League champions set to make their first signing of the summer.
Despite scoring just three goals in the German top-flight this season, Marmoush is often regarded as one of the most effective attackers in the Bundesliga, with the winger’s style of pressing helping Wolfsburg’s overall attacking structure to stunning results.

Indeed, the signing is very apt for a club like Frankfurt, who have been one of the best recruiting sides in Europe in the last few years, and beating Arsenal to Marmoush is an example of such business, with the Egyptian forward an outstanding addition for next season.
Moreover, with Dachi Kamada set to leave Frankfurt for Borussia Dortmund, Marmoush is set to play a first-team role for Oliver Glasner’s side, and Arsenal could regret not pushing hard enough to sign the departing Wolfsburg forward for the new campaign.
Frankfurt signing Marmoush is sensational business

Frankfurt’s transfer policy over the last few years has been influential in Die Adler transforming themselves into a midtable German side into one of the best in the country and a shining example of how a club should be run in a top European division. And signing Marmoush is nothing short of sensational.
The winger had been targeted by Arsenal for good reason, and with Frankfurt beating Arteta to Marmoush’s signing, the Bundesliga side could have a fantastic weapon amongst their ranks for next season which could leave the Gunners kicking themselves.
