Laura Woods has shared her thoughts on Emile Smith Rowe who could secure a summer transfer away from Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal.

The talkSPORT presenter says Emile Smith Rowe is ‘absolutely loved’ by the Arsenal fans, but she agreed that now is the time for the Englishman to head for the exit door, as she told talkSPORT (17/05/23 at 8:55 am).

Whilst Arsenal have pushed for the Premier League title this season and improved in large parts, it has been a big struggle for their Hale-End academy star.

The 22-year-old has played only 146 minutes of Premier League football this term, and despite being back from injury since the turn of the year, Mikel Arteta has hardly used him – therefore, it’s no surprise that some reports suggest that he is unhappy.

The most minutes Smith Rowe has been handed in 2023 is 47 minutes, with the signs clear that he has fallen out of favour in north London.

When Arsenal fan and host Laura Woods was told that Smith Rowe should leave, she issued the following response.

“It’s tricky because they are a lot of names that you have just listed there (that Arsenal should sell), who Arsenal fans just absolutely love,” said Woods.

“Like Smith Rowe, for example. I think he’s not back to it yet because he is still recovering from a lack of game time from the injury.”

SMITH ROWE LEAVING ARSENAL WOULDN’T BE A SURPRISE

Arsenal are looking to elevate their squad this summer after making a surprise challenge for the Premier League title and then shooting themselves in the foot during the latter stages.

The possible incoming transfers will, more than likely, push someone like Smith Rowe aside and further down the pecking order.

Therefore, it’s best he heads for the exit door, he has previously been linked with Aston Villa, who are now managed by Unai Emery, the man who handed him his senior debut.
