Goal journalist Charles Watts has reported on Twitter that Chelsea midfielder Jorginho is now set to join Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal on January transfer deadline day.

Watts has reported this morning that Chelsea have given permission to Jorginho to travel to Arsenal today to get a deal done.

Arsenal and Chelsea are finalising a transfer fee for the 31-year-old Italy international midfielder now.

Exciting for the Gunners

In our view, Jorginho would be a very good signing for Arsenal on January transfer deadline day.

Yes, he is 31 now, but the Chelsea midfielder is a very good player who can make an immediate impact at Arsenal.

The Gunners are aiming to win the Premier League title this season, and they need a midfielder who can make an immediate impact in manager Mikel Arteta’s side.

Jorginho has a winning mentality as well.

The Italian has won the UEFA Champions League and the UEFA Europa League with Chelsea and the Euro 2020 finals with Italy.

Now, of course, Jorginho is 31 now, so it is not as if he is going to be a long-term signing for Arsenal.

However, for the next few months, the Italian is perfect for the Gunners.

Jorginho knows the Premier League, has been successful at Chelsea, and is willing to move to Arsenal.
