Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal are close to agreeing a deal to bring Mykhailo Mudryk to the Emirates Stadium, but Graham Potter’s Chelsea could make a late bid for the Shakhtar Donetsk winger, according to The Telegraph.
The report published at 8:47am this morning has claimed that Arsenal are willing to pay up to £80 million, including all add-ons, for Shakhtar and Ukraine international winger Mudryk in the January transfer window.
The Gunners are close to reaching an agreement with Shakhtar and are confident of getting a deal done for the 22-year-old, but Chelsea could still make a late bid.
Arsenal or Chelsea for Mykhailo Mudryk?
In our view, Arsenal need not worry about Chelsea signing Mykhailo Mudryk in the January transfer window.
The 22-year-old has dropped numerous hints on social media that he wants to join Arsenal, not Chelsea.

And the Gunners are reportedly confident of getting a deal done.
Yes, Shakhtar want £90 million for winger, but given the player’s desire to leave and Arsenal willingness to pay up to £80 million in transfer fees should convince them.
Eventually.
The big question is whether Arsenal should be paying £80 million (including add-ons) for a player who has never played his club football outside of Ukraine.
We think that Arsenal are overpaying for the winger.
