Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti has now addressed Marco Asensio’s future at the La Liga giants. The Spaniard is out of contract this summer and is also a transfer target of Arsenal.
That is according to the Mirror, which reported recently that Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta is a big fan of Asensio. The Real Madrid star’s agents also flew to London earlier this month to test the waters for interest in the Premier League. He faces an uncertain future in Madrid.
Real Madrid wish to wait to March or even April to decide Asensio’s future at the Santiago Bernabeu. He has been at the club since 2014 but a host of sides are now positioning for a transfer. While the 27-year-old also wants a pay rise on his existing £118k-a-week terms.

Asensio’s salary requests may prove problematic should Arsenal explore a Bosman transfer for the Real Madrid playmaker. The Gunners only pay a handful of their players more than the 35-cap Spain star earns now. But they are willing to accommodate for the right signing.
Arteta would spearhead any attempts Arsenal make to agree on a transfer with Asensio if Real Madrid let him leave. While the Mallorca native is currently only focusing on helping Ancelotti revive Los Blancos’ La Liga term. They are second but eight points off Barcelona.

Ancelotti now addresses Asensio’s Real Madrid future as Arsenal eye his transfer
Real Madrid president Florentino Perez is a fan of Asensio and could consider keeping him at the club. Tensions between Los Blancos and the maestro have also eased with Ancelotti fielding him more regularly. Asensio has played in 28 games in all competitions this season.
Ancelotti handed Asensio his latest outing on Wednesday against Elche and saw the 5 ft 11 star open the scoring. He bagged his fifth goal of the campaign on just his sixth start of the top-flight season. After which, Ancelotti addressed the playmaker’s future at the Bernabeu.
“I can see it well,” Ancelotti said, via quotes by Calciomercato, which cites interest from AC Milan. “It could be that he stays or that he goes away. I don’t know and I don’t care much.

“We have a very important challenge this season. So, what interests me is that he is giving his contribution, like he did last year. I hope he continues like this, then the club will make the right decision.”
Arteta is interested in a potential transfer to Arsenal for Asensio with his compatriot now rediscovering form with Real Madrid. The Gunners boss could even get a good look at the playmaker on Tuesday. The Galacticos face Liverpool in the Champions League at Anfield.
