Gabby Agbonlahor has told Wolves to allow Arsenal transfer target Ruben Neves to leave after he expressed his desire to ‘play in the Champions League’.
Following Wolves’ final home game of the season, their 1-1 draw against Everton on Saturday, Ruben Neves, in a possible farewell, said his goodbyes to the home fans.
He stated that he ‘never hides’ that he wants to be playing in football’s biggest club competition, with former Aston Villa striker, Agbonlahor, then posting on Twitter ‘let him go’.

A number of clubs across the Premier League and Europe are keen on his talents, no more so than Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal and Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool.
The difference here is that Arsenal will be playing in the Champions League next season, and unless there is an almighty collapse, it’s Europa League football for the Reds.
From that perspective, it would put them out of the running to sign the Portugal international, although, given that it’s Liverpool, they would still have the pull, nonetheless, this was Agbonlahor’s three-word response to Neves’ comments.
NEVES SHOULD JOIN A CHAMPIONS LEAGUE CLUB
The 26-year-old has been on some journey with Wolves, which started in the Championship, and saw them climb up and play in Europe.
But his talents are now outweighing what Wolves are producing, so it’s high time he left for a team in the Champions League.
With Granit Xhaka set to leave Arsenal, perhaps that left-sided number eight role could be his, especially with suggestions that he could cost only £40 million.
