AC Milan are reportedly interested in signing Arsenal youngster Folarin Balogun, with the England youth international impressing out on loan with Stade de Reims.
According to CalcioMercato, the ‘really special’ striker is now on Milan’s radar having enjoyed a sensational season in France, with Balogun scoring ten goals in 16 Ligue 1 appearances for Reims in a campaign that has seen the Hale End graduate break multiple club records.
With only Neymar and Kylian Mbappe being involved in more goals in Ligue 1 than Balogun this season, it makes sense why Milan are now targeting the Arsenal-owned striker, with the 21-year-old now firmly putting himself in the shop window ahead of the summer transfer window.
Eddie Nketiah’s form for Arsenal in Gabriel Jesus’ absence could easily open the door for Balogun to leave in 2023, and for Milan, the European giants could now begin scheming to bring the attacker to the San Siro, who might be open on a move to Italy.
Indeed, Balogun will no doubt want regular football next season having established himself as one of Europe’s best young strikers this campaign with Reims, and Milan’s transfer policy of signing players with potential and the ability to grow at the club make the Arsenal man an ideal potential signing.
With the Gunners also not making a major sale since 2021 with Joe Willock to Newcastle United, Mikel Arteta might be tempted to cash in on Balogun with his stock at the highest it could ever be and with Nketiah proving himself as the perfect deputy for Jesus.

Balogun’s form this season has been nothing short of incredible, with the Arsenal attacker taking to top-flight football like a duck to water and quickly establishing himself as one of the most promising forwards in all of Europe. And a move to Milan could be perfect for all parties.
After all, Arsenal’s striking options in Nketiah and Jesus mean that there is a small chance Balogun will play regular football for the Gunners next season. And with Milan one of the biggest clubs in the world and a team willing to start young players, it makes sense why a move would benefit everyone involved.
