AC Milan are reportedly plotting a move to sign Brazilian wonderkid Vitor Roque, who Arsenal are also chasing amid rumours that Mikel Arteta has already approved a move for the striker.
According to CalcioMercato, a long-term starting striker is one of Milan’s main transfer priorities this summer, and Roque has emerged as a target for the reigning Serie A champions, though the San Siro side already face immense competition from the likes of Arsenal.
UOL Esporte have recently reported that Arteta has urged sporting director Edu Gaspar to make a move for Roque, with the £62m-rated attacker regarded by many as one of the best talents in South America, with the forward already a regular for Athletico Paranaense.
Whilst Arsenal are one of the favourites to sign Roque, Milan’s interest could pose some serious problems for the north London side, especially due to the fact that the Rossoneri can offer the striker immediate first-team football should the Italians win the race for the forward.

Indeed, whilst Olivier Giroud is expected to sign a new contract with Milan, Stefano Pioli’s side bringing in a wonderkid from Brazil could see Roque replace the veteran Frenchman in the starting XI, something Arsenal might not be so willing to do given their current striking options.
With Gabriel Jesus and Eddie Nketiah both in their mid-twenties, Roque could struggle to see how he will become a long-term option for Arsenal given the options currently ahead of him. And as a result, a move to Milan would make more sense for the Brazilian youth international.
Roque would be wise to sign for Milan over Arsenal this summer

Arsenal have been nothing short of incredible under Arteta this season, with the 40-year-old making the Gunners one of the most attractive clubs in world football and a team that any young player would want to be a part of. However, in Roque’s case, a move to Milan would be better for the youngster.
As we know, Jesus and Nketiah are yet to even hit their peaks for Arsenal, and with Roque very much at the start of his career, signing for a club like Milan could be better in the long-term than a move to north London despite the glitz and glam of the Premier League.
