Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal and Antonio Conte’s Tottenham Hotspur could miss out on the signing of Chelsea midfielder N’Golo Kante, according to Fabrizio Romano in CaughtOffSide.
The well-known and well-respected journalist has reported today that Kante, linked with a move to Arsenal and Tottenham, wants to stay at Chelsea and loves the Blues.
The former Premier League and UEFA Champions League winners are now internally discussing the future of the 31-year-old France international midfielder.
Kante is out of contact at Chelsea at the end of the season.
FootMercato reported in October that Arsenal and Tottenham are interested in Kante and are possible options for the midfielder.
Earlier this month, Romano said on his YouTube channel that “the expectation of those close to the player’s side and the club’s side is for N’Golo Kante to leave on a free”.

However, it seems that there has been a complete U-turn, and that the £290,000 per week (SalarySport) star could stay at Chelsea.
Yes, there have been injury problems with Kante in recent seasons, but the Frenchman is one of the best central midfielders in the world, and if he stays at Chelsea, then Arsenal and Tottenham will miss out.
Arsenal and Tottenham target N’Golo Kante could stay at Chelsea
Romano said: “Chelsea are now discussing internally about N’Golo Kante. The player really wants to stay at Chelsea – he loves the club and the city.
“A few weeks ago, negotiations were really difficult, but now Kante seems open to discuss different terms. Chelsea are in talks with his representatives, but nothing is decided yet – we will see soon.”
