Kieran Tierney wasn’t at Arsenal training on Saturday afternoon, but his bib appeared to be.
Earlier this week Arsenal confirmed that the left-back was looking at a six-week absence with knee ligament damage.
But Gabriel Martinelli appeared to be wearing his bib at London Colney yesterday ahead of tonight’s trip to Sheffield United, evident by the number three emblazoned on the back of it.
Martinelli, who has barely had a kick in the Premier League this season, was photographed trying to beat loan goalkeeper Mat Ryan.
Elsewhere, Calum Chambers, who sat out the visit of Slavia Prague in the Europa League in midweek, was pictured back at the club’s training ground.
Chamber, a £16 million signing in 2014 [The Telegraph], could well start against the Blades tonight.
Mikel Arteta might need to rest some of his bigger players because Slavia are favourites to move into the semi-final of the Europa League, having nicked an away goal at the Emirates on Thursday.
And with Arsenal having almost nothing to play for in the Premier League except pride, a second-string XI – including Chambers – could take the field in Yorkshire.
Here’s some photos of Arteta’s final session:
