Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur have been keeping tabs on Youssoufa Moukoko as the Borussia Dortmund striker prepares to leave in 2023.
That’s according to 90Min, who claim that Arsenal and Tottenham have been ‘informed’ about Moukoko and his plans to move on.
The London duo were seemingly encouraged to make moves but they’re far from alone.
Liverpool and Manchester United are understood to be keen on Moukoko but it now looks like he will be heading elsewhere.
Chelsea are pushing to sign Moukoko and have ramped up their interest in the striker.
Chelsea seemingly accept that Palmeiras wonderkid Endrick is heading to Real Madrid, so Moukoko is now a top target.
Out of contract at the end of the season, Moukoko has widely been expected to stay at Dortmund.
Yet it now looks like Moukoko is heading to London – only with Chelsea and not Arsenal or Tottenham.
Moukoko could have been a huge coup for Arsenal or Tottenham
Moukoko, 18, has been in the Dortmund ranks since joining from St Pauli back in 2016.
The Cameroon-born attacker has been tipped for stardom for a long time now and he has already bagged 11 goals in 44 first-team games.
Moukoko even blew Erling Haaland away at Dortmund, with the Norwegian suggesting that Moukoko was better than him at 15.
Dortmund have been desperately trying to extend Moukoko’s contract but it just hasn’t been possible yet.
That leaves the window open for a cut-price January deal and that’s where Arsenal or Tottenham could have really benefited.
Arsenal are seeking another striker with Gabriel Jesus currently out injured and Moukoko would have been an exciting addition to the Gunners attack for years to come.
Then there is Tottenham, who will see Harry Kane turn 30 at the end of the season and may need to think about his successor.
Moukoko could have been that player with the right development but it looks like both Arsenal and Tottenham will instead have to see the teenager turn out for Chelsea.
