Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur are both trying to sign Napoli hitman Victor Osimhen – but his agent is playing down any exit rumours right now.

Tuttomercatoweb report that Arsenal and Tottenham have both made approaches to sign Osimhen this summer.

Arsenal are desperate to sign a new striker or two this summer with Alexander Lacazette and Eddie Nketiah both out of contract.

It therefore makes sense that Arsenal are looking at some of the top strikers in Europe with Osimhen on their wish list.

Tottenham’s interest in Osimhen doesn’t make quite as much sense.

Yes, Tottenham would no doubt love to add another striker to support Harry Kane but would Osimhen really want to play second fiddle to Kane?

The Nigerian striker is in top form this season and will certainly want a starring role somewhere, which may not come at Tottenham.

Add in the huge fee needed for Osimhen – around £100million – and it’s just hard to see Tottenham signing him this summer.

We would certainly say a move to Arsenal is more likely, anyway.

Osimhen, 23, has smashed 15 goals in just 25 games for Napoli this season and could yet fire them to the Serie A title this season.

Osimhen’s agent has now spoken up amid claims of approaches from Arsenal and Tottenham.

Roberto Calenda is quoted by Tuttomercatoweb as saying that Osimhen is ‘focused’ on Napoli right now as they seek a league title.

Calenda believes that rumours about Osimhen are just to fill newspaper columns right now, believing anybody would link a quality striker Osimhen with a move away.

Calenda seemingly isn’t interested in discussing a transfer right now, but with a major battle expected for Osimhen this summer, that may not stop Arsenal or Tottenham from asking the question.

“The boy is focused, he wants to win and we have all seen his attachment to the team, how to throw each ball,” said Calenda.

“Now he plays in a strong team. Newspapers rightly need to be filled in and written. Even those who don’t know football would probably do Osimhen’s if asked for the names of strikers. Victor is a football player for Napoli and now there are 7 finals, the important focus is on this season,” he added.
