VfL Wolfsburg are reportedly struggling to tie rumoured Arsenal and Tottenham target Omar Marmoush to a new contract, with the winger’s current deal set to expire at the end of this season.

According to Kicker, the two parties are ‘a long way off’ from agreeing a new deal, with Marmoush’s current contract set to expire at the end of this season as interest continues to grow in the Egyptian international.

Bild have previously reported that Arsenal and Tottenham are both interested in signing Marmoush, with the winger believed to be valued at £17m. However, transfer talk has died down in recent weeks amid Wolfsburg contract discussions with the 23-year-old.

But, the north London sides have seemingly received a huge boost following this latest update from Kicker, with Marmoush’s financial demands proving to be an issue for Wolfsburg, something that could interest a Premier League club in the January window.

Indeed, Marmoush’s record of two goals in the Bundesliga this season doesn’t make for enticing reading. However, given the winger’s style of play and versatility in the attack, Arsenal or Tottenham could get the best out of the Egyptian international.

As we know, both Premier League clubs are looking to sign attackers in January, and with Marmoush’s contract talks with Wolfsburg stalling, a potential bargain could be in the making of the north London duo act fast enough ahead of the January window.

At 23 and a full international for Egypt, there’s a lot going for Marmoush that makes the youngster quite an alluring option in the January transfer market. And the winger rejecting a new contract with Wolfsburg could kick-off a bidding war in the Premier League.

After all, Marmoush has the potential to become quite the talent if given the proper training and if surrounded by the right players, and for Arsenal and Tottenham, they could see the value in signing the attacker should contract talks with Wolfsburg completely end.
