Paul Merson has said on Sky Sports News (1:29pm, August 28, 2021) that Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal will not finish above Nuno’s Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League table this season.
The former Arsenal star made the prediction while watching the Gunners suffer a 5-0 hammering at the hands of Manchester City away from home at the Etihad Stadium in the Premier League today.
The Sky Sports pundit has said that he had thought that Arsenal were going to finish above Spurs in the Premier League table this season, but that will not happen now.
Merson said on Sky Sports News (1:29pm, August 28, 2021): “I looked at it this season, and I thought at least Arsenal are going to finish above Tottenham.
“That’s not now happening. Do you know what I mean? Now I have got to look at Norwich.”

Who will finish higher – Arsenal or Tottenham?
Arsenal have lost all three of their Premier League games so far this season, while bitter North London rivals Tottenham have won their first two matches.
Harry Kane is still at Spurs, which means that the North London club will not lack goals this season.
Arsenal are conceding goals after goals – they shipped in five today, although they did play most of the game against City with 10 men due to the dismissal of Granit Xhaka in the first half.
Tottenham have a new head coach, Nuno, and a new managing director of football, Fabio Paratici.
Things are looking quite positive for Spurs at the moment, but the season has only just started.
