Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur have both looked into signing Marcus Thuram in recent times, with Borussia Monchengladbach now willing to sell.

That’s according to The Athletic, Thuram is attracting major interest ahead of the summer transfer window.

With confusion over big-name strikers like Kylian Mbappe, Robert Lewandowski, Harry Kane and Lautaro Martinez, other options could be considered.

Thuram is one of those who will have ‘various suitors’ at the end of the season.

Thuram is out of contract in 2023, meaning Gladbach are willing to sell for around £15million before he leaves for nothing.

It’s stated that Arsenal have considered a move for Thuram in recent times – and the Gunners do want another striker this summer.

The report adds that Tottenham had Thuram on their radar last summer, when Inter Milan were close to a deal.

That price has to be appealing but would Arsenal or Tottenham consider going back in for Thuram this summer?

Starting with Arsenal, they’re seeking another attacker or two this summer.

Alexandre Lacazette and Eddie Nketiah are out of contract this summer and big names have been linked.

It makes sense that Arsenal would maybe spend big on a leading striker before then signing another attacker as competition for a much cheaper price.

Thuram fits that bill at just £15million, whilst he can even play in from the left flank.

As for Tottenham, they’re in a similar boat except they already have their star striker in Harry Kane.

Thuram would give Tottenham another scoring option from the bench without breaking the bank.

The goals have dried up a little for Thuram though. The Frenchman has only scored three goals in 20 Bundesliga games this season.

11 goals and 12 assists in 40 games last season was decent though, with Thuram mostly playing as a left-sided winger.

Thuram is unlikely to be a top target for either North London side, but could be appealing if they miss out on other targets.
