Bayern Munich is the most attractive destination for Marcel Sabitzer away from RB Leipzig, according to SportBild, despite attracting interest from Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur.
Sabitzer considers the Allianz Arena as his preferred destination, should he leave Saxony, having supported Der FCB as a child. The Bavarian powerhouse are also managed by his former Leipzig boss, Julian Nagelsmann, after replacing Hansi Flick at the helm in April.
However, Sabitzer could be denied his preferred move, as Bayern Munich cannot currently afford Leipzig’s €18m (£15.5m) asking price. The Bundesliga holders do not have the funds to sign the Austrian playmaker, despite Die Roten Bullen’s intent to sell.

Arsenal and Tottenham have shown firm interest in bringing Sabitzer to the Premier League this summer, too. That’s according to Bild and Fabrizio Romano respectively, with the Spurs hierarchy admirers of the 54-cap international.
Leipzig want to sell Sabitzer to avoid him potentially leaving the Red Bull Arena as a free agent next year. The playmaker also wants to leave, and club chiefs have noticed he is no longer tackling every training session with the same joy and passion as they saw before.
Sabitzer will not throw the towel in and will strive to help Leipzig this season if he does not leave. Marsch is also prepared to keep the 27-year-old as his side’s captain, even though he only played 26 minutes of the season-opening defeat to Mainz last Sunday.
Serie A pair AC Milan and Roma also admire Sabitzer and would be interested in a deal. But neither can currently keep up with the pace of the race, after Goal reported he told Leipzig he will not sign a new contract.
Sabitzer stance to frustrate Arsenal and Tottenham, amid Bayern interest
Sabitzer favouring joining Bayern Munich will frustrate Arsenal and Tottenham if he leaves RB Leipzig this summer. However, the Allianz Arena outfit’s difficulties to afford a deal offers the north London rivals hope. Providing they can convince the Austrian to join.
Marsch also offered Arsenal and Tottenham renewed hope of signing Sabitzer from Leipzig earlier in the week. The American stated, via Calciomercato: “Sabitzer has become an important figure for the club. But it is difficult to keep a player if he doesn’t want to stay.”
With less than two weeks now left of the transfer window, Bayern could struggle to raise the funds they need. But Arsenal or Tottenham may face a challenge convincing Sabitzer to leave Leipzig for north London, knowing he wants Munich.
