Arsenal are interested in snapping up Middlesbrough talent Isaiah Jones – and he left both Guy Mowbray and Danny Murphy stunned on Tuesday night.
Boro played host to Tottenham in the fifth round of the FA Cup on Tuesday night, producing another relative ‘giantkilling’ having seen off Manchester United in the fourth round.
Boro were the better side but couldn’t quite break the deadlock, with normal time ending without a goal.
Chris Wilder’s side did grab the winner in extra time though as substitute Josh Coburn hammered a superb finish past Hugo Lloris.
Tottenham weren’t able to respond, falling to a 1-0 defeat having turned in a truly dismal performance up at the Riverside Stadium.
Whilst the inquest is underway at Tottenham, Middlesbrough fans, players and staff are all celebrating another huge FA Cup victory.
Boro have major hopes of a playoff place under Wilder and dumping out United and Tottenham in successive rounds suggests there is real quality on Teesside.
One of the key players in the win was wing back Isaiah Jones, who is enjoying a superb season under Wilder.
Jones has been so good that Boro aren’t even missing Djed Spence, the wing back who is starring out on loan at Nottingham Forest.
The Northern Echo claim that Arsenal and West Ham both fancy signing Jones, with TEAMtalk adding that Leeds United and Tottenham Hotspur both like Jones too.
With eight assists in 31 league games this season, Jones has been an outstanding wing back this season and Tottenham saw that.

Jones not only tracked Ryan Sessegnon well but attacked strongly too, offering a great outlet down the Boro right.
Commentator Guy Mowbray and pundit Danny Murphy were both blown away by Jones, telling BBC Sport (10pm) that they had been impressed.
Mowbray was stunned by Jones just keeping on going and going well into extra time, with Murphy adding that he was ‘brilliant’, showing great work ethic throughout – something top Premier League clubs will surely love.
“Does he ever stop, Isaiah Jones?!” said Mowbray.
“Brilliant, I love his work ethic, his desire to get back and track runners and do the job,” added Murphy.
