Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur both want to sign Fiorentina striker Dusan Vlahovic – but his wage demands are causing major problems.

The Mirror (26/12, p78) claim that Vlahovic is in real danger of pricing himself out of a move to the Premier League.

Firstly, Fiorentina want a huge £70million for Vlahovic – a price they may not land given that he is out of contract in 2023.

Secondly, Vlahovic is understood to be demanding a staggering £200,000-a-week when he leaves Fiorentina.

Manchester City are thought to be ‘wavering’ already, with Arsenal, Chelsea and Tottenham also ‘reluctant’ to meet those demands.

Vlahovic could be a game-changer for Arsenal and Tottenham

Vlahovic has been ridiculous for Fiorentina, bagging 16 goals in 20 league games this season.

Even last season, Vlahovic racked up 21 goals for Fiorentina in a stunning season, becoming one of Europe’s top young strikers.

The 21-year-old has even claimed that he is the new Zlatan Ibrahimovic earlier in his career.

Adding that kind of talent is the kind of reinforcement that could push Arsenal or Tottenham from top four hopefuls into the Champions League.

The wages are a concern though. At Tottenham, £200,000-a-week would put Vlahovic on par with Harry Kane.

At Arsenal, that would see Vlahovic go just behind Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang on the payroll.

That would be a major outlay for either side, but it could be money well spent if Vlahovic continues on his current trajectory.
