‘I can promise’: Premier League star offers guarantee to Arsenal fans ahead of Tottenham clash

Arsenal lost 2-1 to Brighton and Hove Albion on Saturday, but Seagulls ace Enock Mwepu has promised to try and beat Tottenham Hotspur too.

With just one point in seven games and only one goal scored in that run, Brighton went to Arsenal in truly dismal form.

Arsenal needed to come up with a performance after being hammered 3-0 away at Crystal Palace last Monday, so a home game against Brighton seemed perfect.

Instead, Arsenal again fell to defeat with Brighton turning in a superb performance.

Mwepu’s run down the right flank saw him pick out Leandro Trossard for a superb opener before Mwepu himself fired in number tow.

Martin Odegaard did pull one back for Arsenal late in the day but it wasn’t enough for the Gunners to claim a result.

Brighton have ended their dismal run and can now look to put together a strong end to the season – and Arsenal will be interested in their next game.

Next weekend, Brighton are back in North London as they take on Tottenham ford the third time this season.

The two sides met in the FA Cup back in February with Tottenham running out 3-1 winners.

Tottenham and Brighton locked horns again in March, with Spurs again grabbing the win, this time with a 2-0 victory thanks to goals from Cristian Romero and Harry Kane.

Tottenham will now be hoping to make it a hat-trick of wins over Brighton this season, which could be key in the title race.

Brighton put a major dent in Arsenal’s top four hopes and could now do exactly the same to Tottenham next weekend.

Arsenal will be praying for a favour from Brighton and midfielder Mwepu has offered Gunners fans a promise.

As quoted by the Daily Mail, Mwepu has promised that Brighton will do their best to win against Tottenham.

Mwepu claims Brighton are focused on themselves but will try to give Arsenal something ‘good’ as a result.

“Normally we would be focused on our own goals but I can promise we will go into the game and do our best to win again. That would be good for them, I guess,” said Mwepu.
