Inter Milan are ‘absolutely excluded’ from any battle to seal a transfer for Leandro Paredes from Paris Saint-Germain, against reported interest from Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur.
That’s according to Calciomercato, who report the San Siro hierarchy have ruled out a deal for the Argentine this summer. The Nerazzurri have no interest in signing Paredes or Roma ace Jordan Veretout, despite their efforts to provide boss Simone Inzaghi a new midfielder.

Inzaghi is adamant Inter Milan must improve his engine room in the off-season as his Serie A side lack depth behind Marcelo Brozovic. Results with Nicolo Barella, Matias Vecino and Arturo Vidal occupying the Croatian’s essential role have been far from satisfactory so far.

Inzaghi has stressed to Nerazzurri sporting director Piero Ausilio for weeks the necessity to sign a deputy for Brozovic. They have also outlined a desired profile to search for, with an age range of 19 to 22 years old wanted – ruling out moves for either Paredes or Veretout.
Instead, talks with Empoli for Kristjan Asllani will intensify at the end of May. The San Siro side admire the 20-year-old considerably, but are yet to open talks. Inter are also scouting Germany and France, after ruling out a move for any of the South American gems offered.
Inter ‘absolutely excluded’ from Arsenal, Tottenham battle for PSG ace Paredes
Reports by Gazzetta dello Sport had cited Inter Milan as a potential rival in the race to sign Paredes, who Calciomercato.it recently noted Arsenal and Tottenham are exploring deals for as Paris Saint-Germain will look to sell the 27-year-old this summer for €25m (£21m).

A deal may even be possible for €20m (£16.5m) as the 44-cap international will enter the final year of his contract this summer. Yet the Argentine’s most likely escape route from Ligue 1 is in Italy, with Juventus likewise keen on a deal to sign the former Roma anchor.
All three will see Calciomercato now excluding Inter Milan from the transfer tussle as a big boost for their pursuits. While Paredes will surely be considering a future away from Paris, having only started 10 of 15 Ligue 1 outings so far this season for a goal and two assists.
