Jose Enrique has stated on his Instagram story that Arsenal will be ‘fighting for the Premier League title again’ amid the latest transfer rumours involving Victor Osimhen and Declan Rice.

The former Liverpool left-back was reacting to claims that Mikel Arteta has identified Napoli’s free-scoring star and West Ham’s hard-hitting midfielder as ‘main targets’ for the summer.

Come the start of next season, Arsenal will be back in the Champions League, but on top of that, they might just also be champions of England

If that’s the case, then it will give them serious firepower in the transfer market and that extra push to try to sign the top talents across Europe.

It is expected that West Ham skipper Rice will leave the London Stadium and David Moyes has spoken about how the Liverpool target could cost more than Chelsea’s British record-transfer capture, Enzo Fernandez.

Just like Arsenal, those in Naples are also looking to win their nation’s title after a long while, 30 years in the case of Napoli, as Osimhen, who has 19 goals to his name this season, has been at the heart of it all and now the £107 million man is wanted by many across Europe.

But what if Arsenal manage to secure their services, well, Liverpool-mad pundit Enrique had a pretty simple response to that.

“Well, if this is true, they will be fighting for the Premier League trophy again next season,” said Enrique.

ARSENAL BACK ON THE WORLD STAGE

Arsenal have always had the pull because of their history and the size of their club. But playing in the Champions League is so paramount to the top stars now.

It will be interesting to see just some of the names Edu Gaspar will be able to attract because this project of Arsenal’s is for the long term.

Only Southampton have a younger average-age squad than the north London outfit, so, finally, after years and years of abject performances, the future is finally looking bright for those at the Emirates.
