Arsenal techincal director Edu Gaspar will reportedly meet with Facundo Torres and his representatives this weekend to discuss a potential transfer, with the Gunners interested in signing the Orlando City superstar.
According to Goal, a meeting has been arranged between Arsenal and Torres’ team as the north London side look to sign the 22-year-old winger in the upcoming January transfer window, with Mikel Arteta and Edu keen to bring in a player who can provide competition for Bukayo Saka.
Torres only moved to MLS this year in January, however, the Uruguay international has already established himself as one of the league’s most exciting players, with the versatile attacker hitting double digits for goals and assists in all competitions for Orlando.
As per the report, Torres is keen on a move to the Premier League outfit, though a deal is not as imminent as first reported as Arsenal looks to iron out the basics first with the attacker’s entourage, with Orlando also likely to demand quite a high transfer fee for the youngster.

Indeed, MLS has proven to be a growing market for Arsenal over the last two windows, with Arteta and Edu recruiting Auston Trusty and Matt Turner from the American-top-flight over the last 12 months. And now, Torres could now join the fold from Orlando.
Able to play both wings, Torres is an ideal candidate to act as competition for Saka in the second half of the season. And with the player keen on a move and Arsenal meeting the youngster’s team this weekend, a transfer is accelerating at a pace that should make fans excited.
Arsenal need to get Facundo Torres signing over the line fast

Arsenal were criticised last January for their lack of movement in the window which seemingly cost them a top-four spot. Yet this season feels like the Gunners have learnt from their mistakes and are now looking to identify targets early and to get them over the line quickly, which is what they need to do for Torres.
Winger and backup to Saka was something that should have been done in the summer, yet with the England star being lucky with injuries until now, signing a player like Torres in January will be of the upmost importance for the north London side.
