Arsenal supporters are desperate to see Bukayo Saka extend his contract.
The 21-year-old is one of England’s most exciting young talents but his existing deal only runs until the year 2024.
And with Liverpool potentially lurking, according to journalist Dean Jones, this is something Arsenal need to get sorted as soon as possible.
However, another journalist has delivered what would be a ‘huge boost’ for the Gunners.
According to Pete O’Rourke, the Arsenal winger is ‘very close’ to agreeing a new deal with the North Londoners’ hierarchy.

He told Give Me Sport: “It seems all the noises coming out of Arsenal – from their camp as well as Saka’s camp – is that this deal is very close to being agreed, which will be a huge boost to everybody connected to the club.”
Huge boost?
Well, that’s an understatement by O’Rourke.
As mentioned, Liverpool have been linked with a move to sign the Hale End academy graduate and although speculation will only stop for so long after signing a new contract, an extension would, at the very least, protect Arsenal financially.
What a travesty it would be if the Gunners had to sell one of their most promising prospects of recent years on the cheap next summer if it meant he would leave on a Bosman 12 months later.
Players like Saka are always going to be linked with transfers away, regardless of contract length, but the longer he has on his deal, the more expensive he is.
And the more expensive he is, the less likely it is that clubs – particularly in England – will be willing to break the bank to sign him.
