Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal remain hopeful of signing Chelsea target and Leeds United winger Raphinha, who has already turned down Antonio Conte’s Tottenham Hotspur, according to The London Evening Standard.

The London Evening Standard have reported that Chelsea remain favourites to sign Raphinha from Premier League rivals Leeds in the summer transfer window.

The former Premier League and UEFA Champions League winners have had a bid of £55 million for the Brazil international winger accepted by Leeds.

However, the 25-year-old prefers a move to Barcelona and has already turned down Arsenal and Tottenham, according to the report.

The report has added that no suitable offer has arrived from Barcelona, and that Raphinha’s future is expected to be resolved within 24 hours.

The London Evening Standard have added that Arsenal are not given up hope of signing the winger, but ‘Chelsea are frontrunners should Barcelona not come through’.

Could Arsenal sign Tottenham and Chelsea target Raphinha?

In our opinion, Arsenal are unlikely to be able to sign Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur target Raphinha from Leeds United in the summer transfer window.

Unless, of course, they pay more than the £55 million that Chelsea have already offered to the Whites.

Arsenal will not play in the UEFA Champions League next season and are unlikely to challenge for the Premier League title anytime soon.

Chelsea regularly challenge for and win major trophies, and if a move to Barcelona does not happen, then, in our view, Raphinha would find Chelsea more appealing than Arsenal.
