Arsenal youngster Mauro Bandeira has told the club’s official matchday programme that Tottenham Hotspur prospect Alfie Devine is the best player he has faced so far in his career.
Bandeira has given an interview to Arsenal’s official matchday programme ahead of the Premier League game between the Gunners and Newcastle United at the Emirates Stadium on Monday evening.
The 17-year-old Portuguese midfielder has played against Devine, and he has named the 16-year-old Tottenham midfielder – along with Rangers youngster Malcolm Ebiowei – as the best player he has faced.
When asked by Arsenal’s official matchday programme the best players he has faced, Bandeira said: “Alfie Devine (Tottenham) or Malcolm Ebiowei (Rangers)”.
Encouraging for Tottenham Hotspur
Devine is only 16 years of age, and it will take a few more years for him to establish himself in the Tottenham first team.
However, the teenage midfielder is so good and promising that he has already played for Jose Mourinho’s senior side this season.
The youngster came on as a substitute against Marine in the FA Cup this month and scored.
Bandeira naming Devine as one of the two best players he has faced shows just how talented the teenage midfielder is and how much potential he has.
