Arsenal and Chelsea have been linked with Bayer Leverkusen defender Edmond Tapsoba, but it looks like he’s staying in Germany.
Tapsoba joined Leverkusen from Vitoria Guimaraes in January 2020, earning his huge move after just 32 games for Portuguese side Vitoria Guimaraes.
The 22-year-old is progressing at a rapid rate, as he’s already one of the Bundesliga’s top centre backs and an absolute mainstay of the Leverkusen side.
Leverkusen know all too well that they will receive interest in Tapsoba though, and Premier League clubs are starting to pay attention.
Fabrizio Romano claimed last month that Arsenal see Tapsoba as the ‘perfect’ centre back signing for them, but Leverkusen are demanding a huge £60million fee.
They appear to be going for Brighton and Hove Albion’s Ben White instead, and there have been murmurings about a move to their London rivals Chelsea.

Tapsoba has now told Afrique Sports that there is ‘nothing concrete’ with Chelsea, and he seemingly won’t be heading to Arsenal either as he plans to start next season with Leverkusen.
“With Chelsea, for the moment, there is nothing concrete, nothing official,” said Tapsoba. “What I can say is that I will start my season with Bayer Leverkusen. We keep our fingers crossed for God to guide us to the right path,” he added.
If the Burkina Faso international continues to shine in Germany, another big money won’t be far away – and don’t be surprised if more and more Premier League clubs join the race for him.
