Everyone knows Arsenal need a striker signed this summer.
And that player could be Victor Osimhen.
According to Napoli Piu in February, Arsenal are plotting a move to sign the Nigeria international this summer, with Alexandre Lacazette and Eddie Nketiah both out of contract in June.
And if it does happen, there might be an an awkward exchange between Osimhen and a certain Thomas Partey at London Colney.
Osimhen’s Nigeria came up against his Ghanaian counterpart in a World Cup qualifier last night.
And the former will now not be going to the World Cup – courtesy of a goal by the Arsenal midfielder.
The former Atletico Madrid man sent his country to Qatar later this year by scoring a crucial away goal which saw Osimhen and his teammates eliminated.
It’s such a bitter blow for the Super Eagles, particularly because Partey isn’t noted for his goalscoring despite his best efforts, as Arsenal supporters will confirm.
Going to North London?
It’ll be interesting to see how Nigeria’s World Cup failure affects their biggest and brightest players at club level.
Honestly, this is someone who could take the Gunners to new heights entirely.
The 23-year-old has netted 15 goals and four assists in 25 outings across all competitions for Napoli.
In fact, one pundit in Italy has claimed that he’s even ‘better than Vlahovic‘, the now-Juventus marksman who Arsenal thought they were signing in January.

Not going to the World Cup is a heartbreaking development for him, because he’ll have been desperate to test himself on the biggest stage of them all.
But a summer transfer to the Emirates Stadium could still make it a glorious 2022 for him.
