Arsenal are taking small steps forward under Mikel Arteta, but still need signings in 2022 with Dejan Kulusevski believed to be a prime target.

The Gunners threw away a 1-0 lead at Everton on Monday night to end up losing 2-1.

Arsenal clearly still need some new additions to really get Mikel Arteta’s side moving. The two windows in 2022 will be vital, and players are already being linked.

Arsenal could land Sweden’s golden generation in Svanberg, Kulusveski and Isak

Arsenal may still need another midfielder as well as another striker. If Nicolas Pepe leaves, another wide man may be wanted.

It now seems that Edu has targets in mind for all of those positions and they curiously all come from Sweden.

Il Resto Del Carlino claim that Arsenal fancy signing Bologna midfielder Mattias Svanberg.

Svanberg has hit three goals and two assists this season, earning praise for a recent strike against Roma.

Quick, versatile and good on the ball, Svanberg can dictate from deep whilst also getting up and down the pitch, which would give Arteta another option in the engine room.

Out wide, Svanberg’s international teammate Kulusveski is wanted.

La Repubblica claim that Arsenal officials will travel to Italy for talks to sign Juventus winger Kulusevski.

Juve want £34million for the wide man, who has been branded ‘the new Kevin De Bruyne’.

It’s unclear how Kulusevski would fit in with Bukayo Saka also at Arsenal, but he is a quality player and can provide real creativity to Arteta’s side.

A third Swede is also wanted in Real Sociedad striker Alexander Isak. Eurosport claim that Isak is wanted at Arsenal as they eye a big-money striker signing.

Isak is tall, rangy and a major threat with six goals in 17 games this season.

These three players are expected to be Sweden’s golden generation. They are already impressing in Europe and may only get better.

Arsenal could now sign all three players, allowing them to emulate Freddie Ljungberg in North London.
