Arsenal’s Santi Cazorla has entered the last year of his contract.

Arsenal midfielder Santi Cazorla has told Spanish radio station Cadena Ser that he would sign a new contract at the club despite alleged interest from Atletico Madrid.
The Spain international has entered the final 12 months of his contract at the Emirates Stadium, and speculation is growing that this could be his final season in Arsenal colours.
Cazorla is regarded as an important first-team member, though increased competition for places amid the arrivals of Mohamed Elneny and Granit Xhaka suggest that he is no longer guaranteed starts.

Having said that, the midfielder has recently told Spanish publication Cadena Ser that he is open to remaining at Arsenal beyond next summer even amid interest from La Liga giants Atletico Madrid.
“It’s clear that Atletico Madrid are a huge club, but I’m happy here (at Arsenal). I feel important, I have the confidence of the coach and the rest of the team,” Cazorla explained.
“If Arsenal offer me the chance to continue, I will do. I’m happy here, it’s a great club.”

Cazorla joined Arsenal from Malaga in 2012 and has gone on to make 175 appearances in all competitions for the club, scoring 29 goals.
The 31-year-old has appeared in five of Arsenal’s six Premier League matches to date this season, scoring twice including a last-minute winner against Southampton in a 2-1 home victory.
Cazorla is likely to return to Spain before his career ends, but he seemingly still has plenty to offer the Gunners and it would be a surprise to see him leave when his current deal expires next summer.
