Arsenal are expected to be extremely busy during this summer’s transfer window.
Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain
Gunners star Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain sat down for an exclusive interview with the Evening Standard, and raved about two French stars who have recently been linked with a summer move to the Emirates.
Arsenal have been heavily linked with moves for both Kylian Mbappe (the Mirror) and Alexandre Lacazette (Telegraph), as Arsene Wenger looks to build a squad capable of challenging for major honours on all fronts next term.
And the Ox shared his admiration for both players, during an exclusive interview with the Evening Standard, suggesting that anyone would want the pair in their side:
Monaco’s Kylian Mbappe in action
“Anyone would want them in their team. First and foremost, Mbappe has been a phenomenal revelation this season at such a young age. It is hard not to watch him closely. He is scoring so many goals and every week, it’s in your face! I have been monitoring him and he really is a quality player. I feel the same about Lacazette. I have seen him for a good few years now and he is always scoring goals.”
The north London outfit undoubtedly need heavy investment this summer, if they are to make a sustained push for the Premier League title – something that they have not really done since they won the league back in 2004.
Lyon’s Alexandre Lacazette
Wenger is notoriously stubborn, however, and does not like being told who to sign at the best of times, so Oxlade-Chamberlain’s words regarding both Mbappe and Lacazette will surely hold little sway in the Frenchman’s final decision.
There is no question that the two French internationals would improve the Arsenal side, however, and it would make a refreshing change for the Gunners faithful if Wenger went big this year and brought some truly world-class talent to the Emirates.
