Lukas Podolski is unhappy with his playing time in north London.

Lukas Podolski could be open to a potential January move away from Arsenal.

The German has seen limited game time at the Emirates Stadium this season and had to watch on last night as Danny Welbeck led the line with aplomb in the Champions League.

And Podolski admits he has to give the prospect of an Arsenal exit some thought…

“I am a footballer through and through, I am a street footballer and I love competition. And when I don’t have that competition every weekend, there has to be a change,” Podolski told RTL in quotes reported by Spiegel.

“We’ll see about [a possible transfer in January]. But I have to at least give it a thought.”

As Opta stats show, the 29-year-old has played just 38 minutes of football across the Premier League and Champions League so far this campaign.

That is just 10 minutes more than substitute goalkeeper David Ospina.

Podolski was all celebrations after Arsenal’s 4-1 win over Galatasaray, however, posing with hat-trick hero Welbeck and writing on social media site Instagram:

“Fantastic champions league win! Great to see my bro Danny scoring his first Hat-trick. Special night at The Emirates!!”

The Gunners travel to Stamford Bridge on Sunday to face league-leaders Chelsea in their next Premier League clash.
