Arsenal attacking midfielder Martin Odegaard’s performance for Norway last night has been described as “quite weak” by the local media.

Odegaard, on loan at Arsenal from Real Madrid, was in action for Norway against Turkey in the 2022 World Cup qualifier on Saturday.

The attacking midfielder has been playing quite well for Arsenal in recent weeks, and along with Borussia Dortmund star Erling Haaland, was expected to help his country to an easy win against Turkey.

However, Stale Solbakken’s side suffered a 3-0 defeat at home, with Odegaard not having a good game.

Norwegian news outlet VG has described Odegaard as being “quite weak” in the game, adding that the 22-year-old “never managed to dominate the match as he can”.

The publication has added that Odegaard did not perform against Turkey as a captain should do.

It was a disappointing game for Odegaard – and for his Norway international teammates – and the youngster will be determined to bounce back.

Norway are back in action on Tuesday evening when they take on Montenegro, and the Arsenal attacking midfielder will hope to fare better.
