While Rice, who can also play as a defender, is a regular in the England midfield, Guehi is starting to establish himself as an important figure in Gareth Southgate’s team.
And Rice has been impressed.
When asked to describe Palace defender Guehi on England TikTok in one word, Rice said: “To be fair, I didn’t know it was coming. Intelligent.”

The London Evening Standard reported on July 19 that Chelsea were considering a move for Guehi due to injury to Wesley Fofana’s serious knee injury.
The report claimed that Palace wanted £50 million for the 23-year-old England international.
Guehi is still at Palace.
It will be interesting to see if Chelsea try to sign the youngster next summer or in the coming years.
After all, Guehi is only 23 now and is unlikely to stay at Selhurst Park for the rest of his career.
The defender was actually on the books of Chelsea from 2007 until 2019.
Guehi failed to make an impact in the Blues’ first team and joined Palace in 2021.
The centre-back has made 77 appearances in the Premier League so far in his career.
Guehi has scored three goals, given one assist, and kept 18 clean sheets in those matches.
